The World Heritage City of Toledo is a national monument to Spain's art, history and spirituality. Situated just 40 miles south of Madrid, the walled city is encircled by the River Tagus and has been home to Christians, Jews and Muslims for centuries. The influences of the different cultures can be seen in many of the historic buildings which include Arab, Gothic, Mudejar, Renaissance and Baroque styles. As you walk along the charming narrow alleyways, discover its many churches, ancient castle, synagogue and the spectacular thirteenth century cathedral, ranked among the greatest Gothic structures in Europe. Also discover the works of El Greco the renowned 16th Century painter who lived and worked in the city. His work can be admired within churches and monasteries and don’t miss his masterpiece, The Burial of the Count of Orgaz in the St. Tome Church.

Half Day Tour:
View the outside of Toledo Cathedral , one of the three 13th century High Gothic cathedrals in Spain and is considered to be the best example of the Gothic style.
St. Tome Church - see its Mudejar Tower and El Greco’s most famous painting – ‘The Burial of Count Orgaz’.
Synagogue de ‘Santa Maria La Blanca’ found in the Jewish Quarter of Toledo, the beautiful Synagogue is built in the ‘mudejar’ style.
The Victorio Macho Museum – view a selection of the work by sculptor Victorio Macho.
The Monastery of San Juan of the Kings – built on the orders of King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella, this beautiful fifteenth century Monastery is famous for its cloisters and is a good example of the Gothic-Spanish-Flemish style.
Full Day Tour:
The full day itinerary includes a panoramic tour of Toledo and visits all of the attractions detailed above, but allows more time to explore the sites including the interior of the Cathedral to view the exquisite decorations, many famous works of Art, including those of El Greco and the fifteenth and sixteenth century stained glass windows.
