A thought-provoking visit to the scene of one of the most influential moments of the 20th Century. It would be hard to imagine a world today if the events of December 7th 1941 had not sucked the United States into the chaos of World War Two. That “day of infamy” wreaked havoc on the U.S fleet inflicting its worst ever naval disaster. Not even the flagship USS Arizona, was spared from the onslaught and today lies where she sank; as a final resting place to most of her 1,177 crew.
This superb tour of Pearl Harbour includes a visit to the USS Missouri - the site of the Japanese surrender to the Allies; to the poignant memorial of the USS Arizona and also the fascinating museum. You will also be taken to the Punchbowl National Cemetery to pay tribute to the brave men and women of the U.S forces, who laid down their lives in the war.
A narrated drive through historic Honolulu concludes the day, taking in Iolani Palace, the only Royal Palace used by a reigning Monarch in the United States; an excellent way to sum up the contribution of the 50th state.
