After an early departure from Athens, journey west along the scenic coast to the stunning Corinth Canal and amazing feat of human engineering. Completed between 1881 and 1893, the Canal stretches 6.3 kilometres and connects the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea. After a short photo stop, continue to the ancient town of Corinth. The town was once one of the richest in the known world and today you can still visit the remains of the huge ‘Agora’ (market place) and Apollo's Temple. Ancient Corinth was the home for 2 years of St. Paul, the Apostle and it was here he wrote the 1st and 2nd Thessalonians (AD 52). The journey back from Corinth takes you via the ancient port of Kechreai where you enjoy a brief stop.
