Depart from Alice Springs and head south stopping for a short visit at the Outback Camel Farm (rides at own expense) and then travel to Yulara and your permanent campsite for lunch. The afternoon is spent exploring Uluru (Ayers Rock), a World Heritage listed area. Join your guide for a base tour of Uluru, exploring ancient caves where Aboriginal paintings can be seen, and learn about the oldest culture in the world. At sunset, appreciate the spectacular colour changes of Uluru. Later return to camp for a traditional Aussie meal. After dinner, relax around the camp under starry desert skies. Overnight accommodation in permanent campsite at Ayers Rock.
Day 2: It’s an early rise for an exciting morning with breathtaking views of sunrise at Kata-Tjuta (The Olgas). Get your walking shoes on for an 8 kilometre hike through the spectacular Valley of the Winds, home to the mythical corkwood-tree woman. Learn about the fauna and flora native to the Uluru-Kata Tjuta region and the extensive fire management practices which are employed in the national park. Wander amongst the red domes and through the winding creek beds of Walpa Gorge. Return to camp for lunch. This afternoon, travel through red sand dune and desert oak country to Kings Creek Cattle Station where optional activities are abundant. Tonight, try a traditional "camp oven" dinner, cooked in the coals of the fire. Overnight accommodation in permanent campsite in the Kings Creek region.
Day 3: Within the imposing Kings Canyon, discover the Lost City and Garden of Eden on a 7 kilometre hike, with plenty of photo opportunities. Admire the towering walls, crevices and plateau of Watarrka National Park. Return to camp for lunch before travelling through sand dune country to head back to Alice Springs. Tour concludes at approximately 5.00pm, at which time hotel drop offs will commence.

Although most camping equipment is provided you will need to bring the following: torch, sleeping bag (these are available for hire for AUD15, payable locally), towel, small pillow, toiletries, swimming gear, hat, sunscreen, water bottle, flynet if required, small day pack.
There will be a fair amount of hiking on this tour so please dress ensure that you have suitable walking footwear and bring plenty of warm clothes as nights can be very cold.
Please keep your luggage to a minumum of 15kg in a soft overnight bag or backpack.
All tents contain 2 single beds plus 1 pullout stretcher bed. Stretcher bed is suitable for children only. Shared bathroom facilities with hot water are located near the campsite.
Please note that due to weather conditions and/or cultural requirements the Uluru climb may be unavailable at any given time. Furthermore, the Anangu people request that visitors respect the importance of this site and choose not to climb Uluru.
A fair amount of hiking will be done on this tour (up to 6-8km a day) so a reasonable level of fitness is required.
This tour is not suitable for children under the age of 8 years of age.
Vegetarian meals are available on request. Please advise at time of booking.
Please note that this is not a fully serviced tour and all campers assist in the preparation of meals, washing dishes etc.

What are the campsite facilities like?

You will be staying in a permanent campsite with sturdy tents and permanent cooking facilities. Fire pits have been purpose built for the campsite along with screened eating areas for your comfort. Shared toilet and shower facilities are provided.

Are all meals provided?

Yes, all meals are provided. Breakfast will consist of a range of cereals and toast with coffee and tea. Sandwiches and salads are provided at lunchtime and the evening meal will be a hot cooked meal.
There are also many opportunities to purchase snacks and beverages at various stops throughout each day if required (at own expense).
Plenty of water is kept on the vehicle for all passengers.
