Depart from Alice Springs and head south stopping for a short visit at the Outback Camel Farm (rides at own expense) and then travel to Yulara and your permanent campsite for lunch. The afternoon is spent exploring Uluru (Ayers Rock), a World Heritage listed area. Join your guide for a base tour of Uluru, exploring ancient caves where Aboriginal paintings can be seen, and learn about the oldest culture in the world. At sunset, appreciate the spectacular colour changes of Uluru. Later return to camp for a traditional Aussie meal. After dinner, relax around the camp under starry desert skies. Overnight accommodation in permanent campsite at Ayers Rock. (L, D)
Day 2: It’s an early rise for an exciting morning with breathtaking views of sunrise at Kata-Tjuta (The Olgas). Get your walking shoes on for an 8 kilometre hike through the spectacular Valley of the Winds, home to the mythical corkwood-tree woman. Learn about the fauna and flora native to the Uluru-Kata Tjuta region and the extensive fire management practices which are employed in the national park. Wander amongst the red domes and through the winding creek beds of Walpa Gorge. Return to the campsite for lunch and farewells before the return journey to Alice Springs. Tour concludes at approximately 5.00pm, at which time hotel drop offs will commence.

This tour does include some hiking/walking so comfortable walking shoes are a must.
Although most camping equipment is provided you will need to bring the following: sensible clothing and footwear, flashlight, towel, a small pillow, water bottle, hat, sunscreen and personal toiletries.
Please bring cooler clothing for daytime wear and warmer clothing for the evenings.
This overnight camping safari includes shared accomodation at a permanent campsite.
Prices are based on a minimum of 2 persons. Single passengers are welcome, but a small supplement applies.
Weather conditions in the desert can be extremely hot during the day and very cold in the evening. Please bring clothes for both cool and warm weather.
You do have the option to climb Uluru but please note that due to cultural reasons the Anangu people request that visitors choose not to climb. Furthermore please note that the climb may be closed at any time due to weather or cultural reasons.
This tour is not suitable for children under 6 years of age.
